Beyond Control
02:35
|
|||
Open up what human hands have made.
Open chests hold our tools of trade.
Sextant says we're 30 degrees apart.
Who says navigation's not an art.
It's beyond control.

Hot Air
02:53
|
|||
Sweeter than stone. Lighter than air.
Wanders alone looking to share.
Greater than one. Lesser than two.
Stuck between two boulders but it's nicer with you.

Leaves
04:06
|
|||
I belong here beside you.
Bolted to the ground so I can't move.
Don't change the colours of the season.
Just hold me close without a reason.
The leaves don't understand the clouds.
No the leaves don't understand the ground.
I belong here across from you.
Our table rattles from our knives and spoons.
Just can't get that soup stain off your face.
So we'll take everything we both have
and throw it in the fire place.
The snow don't understand the clouds.
No the snow don't understand the clouds.

Socks
03:05
|
|||
I pop culture in my mouth like rocks so nobody talks.
I wear children on my feet like socks.
An icicle dangles from a string as it
draws cold blood from a hot bod.
Empires fall but emperors remain tall.

Outside of Myself
04:05
|
|||
Gold and silver bronze me up.
Just keep going till you hit the spot.
Big arm but no throw. Patriarchs will never know
places where the lord can't go.
Sleight of hand but no knit. Matriarchs are full of it.
Stick the needle through the slit.
Ancient evil manifests spoken in truth by unspoken guests.
Avoid the truth by listening less.

The World
03:36
|
|||
The world pushed me down.
Sent me sprawling to the ground.
I shouted up to Atlas.
He shrugged and turned me to the sea.
I returned to the city but no one recognized me.
A girl was sent to earth.
They consecrated her birth.
She shouted up in thankfulness.
I shrugged and sent her out to die.
Ancestors ferment in glasses,
glass eyes on the future.
I left everything that I know
in a copse beside your throne.
Remember the paths you walk on.
We'll rebuild them road by road.

Smokey Rap
04:59
|
|||
D E to the R to the E K izzle D dizzle put some drizzle on your PS trizzle. My lyrics boil but they never fizzle. I'm a self made man the rest are wiener schnitzels. I devour beats big juicy and red. If you're hungry for rap you must be fed. I get all my advice from my man K Gled. He says get those dirty thoughts out of your head. I remember when I worked at the TCBY when I had the country's best rhymes. Easy Easy Man gives me a dime. Always working on the part time. King's Speech, that's a stone cold thriller. Pirrahna 3D, that's more like a chiller. Black Swan, that's a box office killer. Get ready for a wicked psycho sexual thriller.
I first met Smokey when the tide was right. We were moving tree boxes and smoking from a Gandalf pipe. Spent the wicked witchy waking hours making rock hits with Kraus throwing lyrics in the mix. I remember jamming out to Neil Young in the Smoke Den. Telephoning God to find me a new girlfriend. Was it that full moon walk after the X-Cues show where we were stopped and accosted by that UFO. The thing about those Jovians they loved dad rock too. They said their favourite record was Zeppelin II. They sang the third part harmony to Harvest Moon. Then they let us smoke stardust in a rolled up zoot. That's when we knew that a band had to form with Smokey and Del Boy and drums by a unicorn. Parental advisory should be forewarned. Smokey Dokey and the Fidget Spinner band has been born you fucking norms.

I sit at the piano bench. It doesn't make a sound I guess it's broken.
I've read about a thousand books. I still can't remember who wrote them.
But I won't disappear for another couple of years.
I had a dream I was still asleep. I just woke up from both of them this morning.
I had a dog that was really a cat. That's just my ability of perception.
But you won't disappear while I'm still waiting here.
I lost everything the other day. A silver bracelet and a golden locket.
So I'll buy a brand new North Face jacket then I'll sew up all the pockets.
So they won't disappear.
Can't get out. Got sealed inside with liquid glue. Can't get out but who would want to.

Sun cracked door frame across a willowed kitchen.
A white tile coast line, slabs of beaches in between.
Heard a person came from Spain here.
Heard her sugar daddy came from OZ.
The streets beg a fucking question.
Did you ever see your country's top sails fall?
The time I swam in your waters
The time I stood up in your parliament
The time I camped in your backyard
The time I threw up in your garden
I'm lost in a shit show in the city
The moonlight reflected off a bottle as I walked to the Grosvenor.
The first girl I met there had blonde hair and a pinkish jumper.
I forgot her name in the morning as I sat on the bed beside her.
Somehow I managed to swerve home.
Took a shot of Jag to calm my nerves.
The road becomes a little longer when I have it all to myself.
It spreads itself down like a titan.
It lets that deep old breath out.
